wanderstop

A former warrior named Alta, whose painful losses in combat have led her
to help tend a tea shop with its owner Boro, aim to heal herself.

Client: Ivy Road

Worked with: Davey Wreden, Steven Margolin, April Martin, Temitope Olujobi, Nat F, Daniel Rosenfeld aka "C418", the Annapurna & Ivy Road team

My role: UI/UX, illustrative UI assets

Collaborating directly with the Ivy Road team, I was able to create an interface
that could harmonize with the game's universe and tone. During the development,
I also provided UX solutions, and animated mockups to convey ideas.

The dialogues have two status: one where the protagonists are speaking,
showing one main dialogue, and one showing three possible dialogue options.

For each characters appearing in the story, I made a specific illustration that represent
their personality or some aspect of them. Finding out which items or shapes could best match
the vertical alignment of the UI without taking that much space was a fun challenge.

The inventory is split in four different sections (seeds, tools, tea ingredients and others miscellaneous items).
It is opened by pressing directional arrows on a gamepad or the first numbers on a keyboard (which can be edited).
This way of displaying the inventory was deliberate as it needed to be quick and efficient: every item can simply
be used, held, dropped, put somewhere to decorate the shop or given to a character.

Like the image above, each icon was drawn using Procreate. I created more than 40 of these in total.

I created and animated this asset appearing on the loading page.
I wanted the cup to be somewhat reminiscent of the one already in the Wanderstop logo.

The Field guide is the section where the player will be able to find all Boro's notes about how to run the tea making machine,
the tasks, and the different seed combinations needed in order to grow specific plants.

The player goes through section through tabs on the side.
